I need some green food. Every Wednesday I attend a meeting which has a catered meal. The meals are very unhealthy. Last week it was a BBQ bathed in a sugar based BBQ sauce, with mashed potatoes in margarine, corn on the cob and white bread rolls. Nothing green. So today I am eating a salad before I go to the meeting. Baby kale and romaine lettuce with leeks, carrots tomatoes and home grown herbs. Call it a defensive eating strategy.
After reading Joel Fuhrman, Eat to Live, I realize how important green vegetables are to the diet for health. Today I am getting my green food. I have to admit I often crave the fun foods but they do not make me feel good. Greens are the best.

It is so hard to eat healthy in our culture. We are constantly “sabotaged.” So today I am bring a healtherier sack supper before Bible Study tonight so I don’t go get chicken nuggets and fries!
